HOW DOES IT WORK?
When holding a stretch with mindful awareness your muscles cells can relax and are allowed to elongate, this releases endorphins, the body's natural "feel-good" hormones, which can reduce pain. Combining with the activation of the parasympathetic nervous system, leads to increased feelings of calm, relaxation, improved mood and overall wellbeing.
WHAT HAPPENS DURING THE SESSION?
Each session is adapted to your individual needs, so the work stays relevant. Thus, over time, you will be guided through a variety of mindful self-care stretches in a peaceful and supportive noncompetitive setting. This type of stretching can stimulate appropriate change within the muscle leading to increased elasticity, better performance, posture and flexibility.
However, if not maintained, these changes are only temporary.
*I will do a quick assessment, just to see where you stand in your ROM and flexibility. And go over any areas you may want to focus on primarily.
*We will begin with a quick and gentle warm up, so your muscles are ready to stretch blood flow and enhance muscle relaxation, to be able to embrace the stretch rather than fearing the movement.
*I will explain the movements to you as we go along and show you how to breathe properly through each stretch and perform them with awareness and intention. The primary Focus of these sessions is to naturally increase your range of motion and flexibility by releasing tension, targeting any tight areas and embracing the connection between breath and movement with conscious awareness of your body's needs. Cultivating self-love, with a sense of softness, balance and peace inside your body again!
Please know that this is Not physical therapy “assisted” stretching or stretch therapy," I do not treat injuries, or claim to provide medical care, there will be minimal to no touch at all.
